CARVED GOURDS
Pinotepa de Don Luis, Oaxaca
The designs and animals embodied in each of these seeds are magic. And each seed is a tribute to nature, the stories and the imagination of the artisan who makes it. The seeds are collected and etched with a razor. Each seed is unique in shape and decoration since everything is made by hand. The artisan captures the image in his head and begins to print it with his hands on the seed.
Spheres to decorate, containers for mezcal and to serve salts are some of the uses that can be given.
LIMITATION
- The shapes of the gourds are natural and not exact.
- Measurements are approximate and not exact.
- Diameters from 6cm to 30 cm approximately.
TREATMENT
- It is natural seed and does not have lacquers so you have to be careful with humidity and stains since they will probably be absorbed and not removed.
- To wash you can use soap and water and let it dry.
